WELCOME
VICTORIAN BUSH FIRE APPEAL
Thank you to everyone who has got behind the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal
via State Swim or other associations. We raised in total $9221.20, it’s
amazing what you can achieve when the challenge is upon us, well done
to everyone involved. $1215.20 was donated through our various tins,
ice cream containers and even an old ‘fireman’s’ helmet on the receptions
desks at each swimming school. State Swim itself, donated the
remaining $8006.
Funds raised will be used to provide assistance to individuals and
communities in towns and suburbs affected by the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
An independent panel made up of community leaders will oversee the
Appeal Funds operation.
Please note: Red Cross will not deduct any costs from public donations to
cover Appeal costs. All interest earned on donations will be invested back
into the Appeal.

HEALTH & SPORT NEWS
Now that school is well and truly back, we will be extremely busy making sure
State Swim children are the best prepared at school carnivals. Therefore we
will keep on pursuing the best possible technique and continue to challenge
swimmers at all levels.
Get ready for the next Super Swim on Thursday 26th March, 6-7pm
All Team Gold, Silver, Bronze and 400 Gold members are encouraged to attend.
COACHES REPORT
Well done to all those swimmers (36) who attended February's Cyberswim.
You should be very proud of youselves! Please note that it is now compulsory
at Secret Harbour Swimming School, to wear the orange State Swim cap to
every Superswim. This decision was made to promote team spirit and as
swimmers we should be proud of our team. Caps can be purchased at
reception for $5.00.
