December 18, 2008 OSBORNE PARK - DECEMBER 2008
WELCOME
Merry Christmas everyone,
With 2008 coming to a close, we look back
at what we have achieved throughout the
past 12 months. Here at State Swim we only
have to look back at the last 11 editions of
Achievers Monthly to see the thousands of
names of children who have achieved Merits,Certificates, Swimmer Of The Month
awards, Bronze, Silver or Gold medals and 50 PB Trophies. These achievements mark each step closer to graduating from our 400 Gold Program thus being safe and competent swimmers. Have a great Summer break and let the kids 'show off' their swimming skills. Remember to allocate someone to supervise those yet to reach the
400 Gold level.
Get those colouring in entries in as soon as possible to be in the running
for our great gift vouchers. Competition closes Sunday 21st December.
If you are going away and not attending your regular lesson please let
reception know and collect a Lesson Make Up Card (if applicable).
All of us here at State Swim wish you Merry Christmas and a
happy and safe year in 2009.

All Schools Carnival
Team Osborne Park has made great improvements in preparation
for this carnival. We finished overall 4th place and did extremely well
in Breaststroke events in particular.

9yr old Girls Runner Up – Coco Grotegoed-Olney
10 yr old Girls Runner Up – Megan Morley
Fantastic effort, well done.
We start training for the next carnival the day after this one!
So get down to training & work on your technique & fitness.
Squad Party
We hosted a Squad Party for all Health & Sport Swimmers on Monday
8th December. We had a great turn out with about 45 people enjoying
themselves. No training this night but a well earned social event where
everyone came to play games, eat pizza & drink soft drinks and kick back!
It was a nice change working hard on eating and playing rather than swimming!

GOODBYE
Thanks, it's been great being with all of you
for the years I have been at Osborne Park
Swimming School. I have met a lot of
wonderful talented swimmers, let's hope I
read about you in the sporting pages in the
future. Good Bye from Michael.
Michael will have left Osborne Park
Swimming School by the time this
newsletter goes to print. Michael has been
with State Swim for approximately eight years , with a break in the middle, in
various roles such as Assistant Operations Manager and Head Coach.
He leaves us to take on a business position in an engineering firm.
When he did stop working for State Swim for a bit over a year, it was to primarily to build a car, specifically a Westfield, which is an
open wheeler clubman.
Good luck in the future Michael.
