CANNING VALE - FEBRUARY 2009

WELCOME

By now many of you will be back in 'full swing' with the school routine and
outside school activites and hopefully enjoying a bit of 'me time', hopefully!

Recently we have received a high volume of phone calls which we are
handling to the best of our ability, promptly and efficiently. We do
however, acknowledge and apologise for some delays you may be
experiencing. To help address the situation we ask that if you are having
difficulty getting through by phone, that you try to call between 12 and 3pm,
between lesson times. You can also contact your swimming school via the
State Swim website www.stateswim.com.au
We have set up a message bank service that will advise the caller the
above details too, so that you are not left wondering if you have called the
right number.  State Swim value your feedback, so please let us know
if we can improve your and your child's swimming experience,  email us
on admin@stateswim.com.au

Thank You

UV WATER PURIFICATION

Did you know that at State Swim pools use the UV Water Purification system?

Ultra Violet light is similar to using the rays of the sun for water purification,
it's non chemical, presents no danger to use and is the most natural of
methods to help purify the water. A UV System will not eliminate the use of
chlorine totally, as under our health regulations we are still required to
maintain a certain level of chlorine at all times.

For you, our swimmers, this means:

  • More gentle on babies' skin
  • No more red eyes and/or skin irritations
  • Better environment for asthmatics
  • Water clarity is improved and is fresher and cleaner
  • Reduced wear and tear on bathers
  • Less use of chemicals means it's better for the environment

Until recently swimming pool operators have had little choice but to use
traditional chlorine disinfection systems. The UV water purification system
has proved that ultraviolet treatment with low levels of chlorine has major
benefits over any of these traditional methods.

Please see our website www.stateswim.com.au for the full article.

SWIM AND PLAY PROGRAM

Here at State Swim we hold classes for babies from the age of 6mths through
to 30mths. Here your child can begin to learn water survival skills and  interact
with other children of their age, in a fun and safe environment. We hold these
classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings between
9am and 11:30am, Saturday afternoon 12pm and 2:30pm and Sunday
mornings between 8:30am and 11:30am.
Ask at reception for some more information or to book into a class. And
remember our UV Water Purification is much gentler on the skin and eyes
of the littlies.

HEALTH & SPORT NEWS

The first Super Swim for the year went off
with a bang. The attendance of the
swimmers was fantastic and the personal
best times really set the standard
for the new year of the Health and Sport
program. (pictured: Donovan Foo Team

A special congratulation goes to:
Jessica Lees, Ashleigh Stothard, Kaitlin Lees, Jessica Taylor, Michael Orton
and Edward Yoo
who all beat their personal best times in the 50m freestyle,

It is great to see some swimmers from 400 Gold getting involved to get some
experience in the Super Swims and also the Health and Sport program.
We encourage all 400 Gold swimmers to come down and give it a go.
Thankyou to all of the parents who helped out on the night and big thankyou to all
of the coaches, with your help and support the night was a great success.
The next Super Swim will be held on Wednesday the 25th of February between
6pm and 7:30pm so be sure to keep this date free.
